Yes, the time clock keeps working even if the internet goes down. Clock-in data is stored locally on the tablet, then automatically synced with your Skello account as soon as the connection is back.

Can I use any tablet as a time clock?

The Skello time clock app works with all Android and iOS tablets. All you need is an internet connection for the initial setup and a recent tablet to ensure good performance. Find out more in our help center.

What is the difference between a tablet time clock and a mobile time clock?

The tablet time clock is fixed: it is installed at the company's venue or store and used by all employees to clock in on site. The mobile time clock is available on the employee's smartphone, making it possible to clock in anywhere, ideal for teams on the move.

How does geolocation protect employees' privacy?

We respect your employees' privacy by recording only the information strictly needed to manage working hours. Only location data at the moment of clocking in is collected, with no continuous tracking of their position.

Can my employees refuse to use the geolocated time clock?

Yes, if geolocation is not essential to carrying out their role or if another form of monitoring exists. The principle is that the system must be justified and proportionate. A refusal can be legitimate if the employer does not meet the conditions set by the relevant data protection authority, or if the employee can show that the system interferes excessively with their private life.

Does the mobile time clock work without an internet connection?

Yes, the app records clock-ins offline. As soon as an internet connection is restored (Wi-Fi or mobile data), the data is automatically synced with the server. This keeps the service running even in areas with poor network coverage.
