By doing nonstop, we have 5 different working time slots in our 4 stores. Being digitized, having the application, it allows you to have the schedules instantly.

Can you introduce yourself and tell me your story at this Weldom establishment?

My name is Antoine Lucca, I am co-manager of the Weldom store in Bagnols-sur-Cèze and the Weldom store in Sommières. We also have a Boulanger store in Bagnols-sur-Cèze and a Cuisine Plaisirs store.

The store was created in 1964 by my grandfather, originally it was a small hardware store in the city center. Today, I manage it with my father and we have about fifty employees at Weldom in Bagnols-sur-Cèze! Of the three other stores, we also have around fifty employees in total.

We've been using Skello on all of these stores since 2020, it replaced our Excel files.

What has been your biggest challenge since becoming a managing partner?

In 2014, when we celebrated the company's 50th anniversary, we extended the hours. It's true that it was a big change! This had a big impact on the schedules since before, an employee covered almost the store's time slot.

Today, by working nonstop, we have 3, 4, 5 different time slots. Before, we had a person who concentrated all these schedules there to make a global store schedule: it took us a lot of time.

For holidays, it's the same, we managed everything on Excel and we had to make sheets for each request.

What are your best practices for effectively managing your work organization?

Go digital! Switching to Skello has already given us a lot of time. Indeed, managers fill out all their schedules and everything is centralized by itself. So I have sector managers who manage their teams more operationally.

The fact of digitizing time management, of having an application for employees, it allows to have an instant vision of schedules.

For holidays, having the application with notifications is very fast. I get the requests, I say “ok, it's good or not, it's not good”, everything has become very fast.

Would you recommend Skello to other professionals in your sector? What would you tell them to make them take the plunge too?

If I had to give my vision of Skello to a professional, I would say that it really saves time! It allows us to improve what already exists.

At the beginning, in 2020, when I was approached by Skello, we were told “we are starting to develop the DIY sector”: we were the first! Today, there is already a national negotiation to try to make a proposal to all Weldom stores.

What are your goals? Are you planning on running other DIY establishments?

Our main goal is to perpetuate and develop the company. Weldom is a young network, the Weldom brand has only existed since 1999, and we would like to develop throughout the network so tomorrow if we have opportunities, why not.
