Awarded one star in the Michelin Guide, Stéphane Froidevaux's cuisine broadens its palette and refines its style year after year. Far from being the result of solitary work, it is the entire gastronomic restaurant Le Fantin Latour that is concerned by this performance. This upscale establishment located in the heart of Grenoble took root in a 19th century mansion: the walls of the former museum of the same name. In a desire to establish new operating methods, the management of Fantin Latour chose Skello to help them maintain a high level of performance and in the management of their teams.
In particular through the electronic signature of timesheets, implemented in the organization as soon as the functionality was released.
We spoke to Stéphanie Rostaing, Deputy Director of the restaurant Le Fantin Latour on this subject.
A year after its introduction to Fantin Latour, Skello is already well taken care of by the 34 employees of the restaurant, the vast majority on permanent contracts, who use the application on a daily basis to consult their schedules and make their requests for leave. This implementation of the solution is part of a redesign of the organization's operating methods: limit work breaks as much as possible in order to favor work with continuous hours.
We also do a lot of à la carte contracts with schedules that are already well defined in advance, with a real countdown of the hours for each one.
In order to maintain a level of efficiency and performance in line with that expected of a high standing establishment, each Fantin Latour team has a specific schedule: the office team, the kitchen, the sink and the room. In this context, it became complicated to bring all employees together at a specific time to sign the timesheets. In addition, there was an administrative burden and an operational dimension that could be a source of difficulties for management and employees.
Before the electronic signature of timesheets, it was always an obstacle course, it took a lot of time and it was impossible to do it every week - so we only did it at the end of the month.
At the end of the month, for the 34 employees, we printed 100 timesheets, which is not trivial. And then, the time to print them, put them away, sort them, divide them into folders, scan them to send them to the accountant... It was a huge waste of time, and it was not economical at all.
Before that, the fact that several employees came to sign their timesheets at the same time at the office created crowds.
As soon as Skello was deployed within the establishment, the management of Fantin Latour was won over by the ease of use of the solution. So much so that, with the restaurant in the process of reorganization, Stéphanie Rostaing shared her ideas with Skello about the development of an electronic signature feature for timesheets. The release of the latter then becomes synonymous with transparency and efficiency for employees and teams in the office.
The Skello interface really spoke to me: the tool is simple and fun.
Today, we have taken a 180 degree turn within our company at all levels: in terms of management, reception and everything that goes with it. And there are computer tools and resources like Skello that are there to help - once you master them, it brings a certain comfort that is not negligible.
So as soon as I started working with the solution - I asked if precisely this signature on the timesheets could be in electronic form. In fact, insofar as you can send the schedule by email or SMS - I would have liked to do the same thing in the opposite direction: where it is the employee who signs and sends us his timetables.
Now, we sign our timesheets every week without needing to be in person because it's automatic. It's really a time-saver and transparency with the employee [...], we don't cheat, we're transparent with them, they're transparent with us.
The employees of Fantin Latour are unanimous: Skello makes their lives easier and they are aware that the solution streamlines exchanges and processes in the organization. The restaurant management is measuring the impact of the tool and is ready to work on the co-creation of new functionalities that would, among other things, improve the operation of the establishment.
Skello, everyone got a taste for it very, very quickly.
If employees have things to change or correct for us: an email is sent automatically, which ultimately creates much healthier relationships. I think they are freer to be able to say if there are any mistakes.
Because, by the way, coming to sign the timesheets was restrictive for them. There, they do it quietly at home, at home.
I am working a lot on Skello, it will change a lot of things in our establishment. I see that the software continues to evolve in a good dynamic so I am ready to participate so that it can be further improved in order to make life easier within our company.
