Samira: Gandalf and I launched Wacky together since we are a couple. We knew we wanted to partner with people.
For the record, Gandalf was returning from Canada where he had been the manager of an equivalent model in Loufoque, I had already returned to France because I was working there. As soon as he returned to France in early 2017, we spent a year looking for the place of the future crazy.
The person who was replacing Gandalf at the establishment in North America, Charles, returned in turn and announced that he wanted to be part of the adventure! Charles arrived and brought two people back with him: his brother and his brother-in-law, who are the other two partners.
Samira: I take care of everything related to human resources. Gandalf, on the other hand, takes care of the administration and the treasury. Then, we have Antoine, who is responsible for managing the bar, Edouard for orders and cooking and finally Charles, who is in charge of events!
Before Covid, we were 10 people on the team and now we have gone down to 7. We have one person on duty, a hybrid person who does both bar service and entertainment, then we have two employees dedicated to entertainment and three in the kitchen.
Samira: We opened Loufoque in 2018. Skello has been with us since the beginning: we have never done without Skello! It's funny because at the beginning, I wasn't supposed to be the person who manages Skello but that's finally the case. It was Gandalf who took the initiative to contact various planning departments.
We then selected Skello, the partners did a training course but quickly realized that they did not have time to manage this administrative and HR part. So I took over.
Samira: Previously, I had already been trained in sales structures and planning so using Skello was immediately smooth for me. Skello was very easy to learn, I didn't even need additional training.
The resources you provide help me a lot: I usually find my answers in your Help Center. When I can't find it, I ask the question directly about customer service and I find that you are very responsive, I never have problems. I often work on Skello in the evenings, so if I don't get a response in the Help Center right away, I always get back early the next morning.
Samira: I would say approximately that Skello saves me 5 hours per week on administration! When my employees make extraordinary demands of me, and I have to change the schedules, it takes me an extra hour per week. Normally, I always make the schedules a month in advance and then present them to the partners according to the events that we have or do not have before they are published.
Gandalf: We've never been to Goofy without using Skello. In my previous bar management job, we used Excel to make the schedules. In terms of readability, it was also practical, but for everything else, i.e. the administrative part, the retrieval of salary information such as hours worked, holidays, absences... Skello is very practical. In terms of practicality, Skello is a good tool that allows you to gather and find all the information you need. It is practical for human resources management, with the Single Staff Register, contracts, etc...
Gandalf: We no longer make schedules, so on this part no. But we continue to use it to apply for partial unemployment reimbursement at the Direccette. Thanks to the export of partial unemployment benefits, we find all the data on hours worked/unemployed to be declared. During lockdown, the webinars were also useful for us to de-fog the whole situation because at the beginning, when you are in the bar, you are with your nose in the handlebars. However, it really hit us off the back of our heads, literally overnight, and it allowed us to have a lot of perspective!
