It is quite chic to be able to say to new hires: “You will receive a link to the Skello application.

Can you introduce yourself and explain to us your function within the Pharmacie De La Rocade Villenave?

My name is Laurence Bourgade, I am a pharmacy technician and I have been working in the pharmacy on the Rocade Villenave d'Ornon for 12 years. For the past 2 years, I have been taking on new positions as executive assistant: I am helping the titular pharmacist with administrative management. This includes managing human resources and schedules.

What was the biggest difficulty you encountered in taking this position?

What was the most complicated was managing staff schedules. When Skello was introduced to me, it was obvious to me. I was just starting out and I had to manage the schedules of 18 people using software that was not at all intuitive. To simplify my task, I first decided to create my schedules on an Excel table. However, I could not share these Excel schedules with my teams: it was not optimal.

When I was called to demonstrate Skello to me, it spoke to me right away. Then, I liked the tool and the teams got used to it very easily.

Has your team grown since you took office? Did this cause difficulty in team planning?

The team has not grown, there are still 18 of us. When there are changes in the team, tracking and organizing staff is easier.

What Skello features do you use the most? And what do you expect the most from our solution?

I haven't explored everything on Skello yet! I saw that we could track the turnover, the hourly rate, store and track the history of contracts... But I have not yet taken the time to use these parts because they are not my priorities. There are things to do, but the main purpose of Skello is to create schedules and communicate them to employees in real time. If, for example, there is an absence, I change the schedule, I send it to the people concerned and that's still a step forward! Also, the fact that they can ask for time off is practical.

Also, when I have new recruits who arrive, it is quite “chic” to be able to tell them before they arrive: “you will also receive a link to the Skello application, to receive your schedules digitally”. Employees like it a lot, it's innovative. Employees, who are now all connected, appreciate the fact of receiving their schedule on the phone and requesting time off on it.

Was Skello particularly useful to you in times of crisis?

If I had had the Skello software at the time of lockdown, I think it would have been useful. Indeed, I had to change all the schedules because half of the team was no longer on site: they had to look after their children. We had to change the pharmacy hours, and all this was managed on boards that were posted on the premises.

Since we installed Skello, we have been open all the time and we do not work from home. The schedules are therefore not upset but we use Skello every week to build and communicate them.
